Fifth graders will use an abstract painting to explore mixing of tints and shades.

Then we will jump to...
The American pop artist, Wayne Thiebaud, used food for the subject matter of many of his works.  Grade 5 will make ta study in tints and shades.

Grade 4: Analogous Color Combinations
We will create optical illusions in analogous color palettes!

Grade 3:  Warm and Cool colors
What colors would you paint the sun?

Grade 2:  Complementary colors
We will have a blast trying out complementary color combinations and discovering how powerful they are!  
Eric Carle shows us in his book, Hello Red Fox.
We will make patterned fish or rockets.  Wait until you see ours in color!!

Grade 1:  Primary and Secondary colors
Grade 1 artists will have a hands-on experience, mixing secondary colors and making their own color wheels!
